One does not need to have a Ph.D in sociology and research to see that the public schools are suffering.
The mainstream media has been seeking the cause for decades. Last week the Mercury News suggested that we need to instill virtue into our students again. Many articles suggest it is a lack of funding or the lack of governmental control. However they all agree that something must be done because many students are coming out of our public schools with few skills to make it in the world and compete in the labor force at a national level.
One of the successful alternatives to public schools is home-schooling. Over the past 20 years the success of home-schooling has been evident in national tournaments, colleges and the workforce as children who were home educated excel and bring a strong level of competency into their field.
The shock was great with this past week’s ruling to outlaw home-schooling in California.
"With this case law, anyone in California who is home-schooling without a teaching credential is subject to prosecution for truancy violation, which could require community service, heavy fines and possibly removal of their children under allegations of educational neglect,"(sfgate.com)
The outcry has been strong. Even Governor Schwartznegger holds that this is major infringement of the family on a very basic level.
The ironic nature is those who embrace tolerance are being intolerant of a successful alternative.
What this is showing is once our law-makers are intolerant of the family, but for the rights of children to:
Pornography and no censorship,
Abortion without informing their parents,
Sexual activity with condemns,
Suing parents according to their whims
To do what is right in their own eyes
If you:
Understand that not all children can successfully fit the mold of the public institutions
Believe that parents love their own children more than the civil government loves them
Trust the average family, not the civil government, seeks what is best for their own children
Support families having the choice to choose how to give their child the best
Then you to should take action and stand up for the family. Please look into signing this petition:
